You Just got engaged, yay! Now what? You’ve set the date, picked your colors, and have your eyes set on a venue. Other than booking your florist (which should definitely be at the top of your to do list), picking a photographer should be your main priority. While decor and flowers are important to setting the style of your wedding, choosing the right photographer to capture your wedding day may be one of the most important decisions you make during the entire wedding planning process. These wedding photos will forever live framed on your living room walls and passed down in photo albums for generations to come. More often than not, brides may choose their wedding photographer based on who their cousin used or maybe they’ve seen their work on Instagram and ‘’liked’’ some of their images or simply the photographer was running a special and they snagged a deal - all valid points, but you should be booking photographers, and all vendors, based on YOUR needs, likes, and style.
There’s no doubt that the wedding photography industry is over saturated. There are a million and one photographers out there and they all have their own style and ways of doing things. As a bride it can be very overwhelming. You’ve never planned a wedding before, how are you supposed to know there are different styles and that photographers are not ‘’one size fits all?’’
What better way to help you see the difference between the two most popular styles of wedding photography, than to put together a styled shoot and have two wedding photographers with complete opposite styles shoot it?? So that’s what we did!! I, along with an amazing team of vendors (listed below), put together this microwedding styled shoot (you can see more in the Urban Elegance gallery)! It`s truly amazing that these photos came from the same shoot. They share the same content, models, poses, and decor yet the images are polar opposites. While looking through these photos, think about how you feel - What style are you more drawn to? What style do you want your wedding day to be preserved in for all of time?
